I like the horns. Are they bone? Imitation ivory?

My Bull Necklace
by TOTH inyears ago my mom sold avon and i bought a necklace from her that had a bull head as the centerpiece.
(looks like the one above) i was first admonished by the overlords to not wear it because it was like walking around with a golden calf around my neck.
when i kept wearing it my mom was scolded for selling it to me and i was then scolded as well.

It's Friday! Let's Drink Some Whisk(e)y!! (Responsibly, Of Course)
by Low-Key Lysmith inas some of you know, i am employed as master of whisky for seattle (pac nw).
i represent diageo n america's whisk(e)y portfolio.. this includes: johnnie walker, the classic malts of scotland, bushmills irish whiskey, crown royal, bulleit bourbon and rye whiskey, george dickel tennessee whisky, and bucchanan's blended scotch whisky.. my job basically involves speaking publicly about the whiskies, hosting and presenting whisk(e)y tastings and dinners, and educating bar & restaurant staff about whisk(e)y. tough gig, i know.. my mow bio & pic can be found on crown royal's website here: http://www.crownroyal.com/west-masters/breck-taylor.
i was thinking about putting a featured whisky of the week up here every friday.

Tonight's whisky is a single malt from a tiny island off the Western Highland Scottish Coast called Islay (pronounced EYE-luh). The Islay malts all tend to be very hearty and heavily peated.Tonight, I choose Lagavulin Distillers Edition.
Just pulling the cork on the Lagavulin Distillers Edition fills the immediate area with the smell of rich peat smoke. On the palate, the peat reek is nicely balanced by a sherried sweetness. This whisky is aged 15 years in an ex-bourbon cask, then finished for a year in a Pedro Ximinez sherry butt before bottling.
The Spanish sherry oak adds fruity complexity to the caramel & vanilla notes that the whisky gets from the bouron barrel.
One word to describe this whisky would be "robust". The initial sweet smokiness becomes a briny finish with a hint of iodine. very complex.

That's great, tm. Our cat is in cahoots with the dogs and they all regularly come up with schemes to get at the treats.

Nobody Said It Better'n GEORGE!
by TOTH inwhen it comes to bullshit, big-time, major league bullshit, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims, religion.
no contest.

The world lost much of its value the day George Carlin died. Truly a voice for the crowd that thinks.

I would give $1,000,000 to everyone who showed me kindness, love, and support over the years since my exodus from the borg.
A big chunk would be invested in an Alaskan fly fishing lodge/guide service.
I too, like the scholarship fund idea.

Thank you for the kind sentiment. It was certainly her time. At 91, she lived a good life, despite being a life-long, devout JW.
I washed my hands of the JWs 20 years ago. Please shoot me a pm if you need friendly advice or a kind ear. Suicide is not the answer. There are alternatives.

Last August. My Grandma passed.
Glad to see that you're still with us. Life is so much better beyond the Zion Curtain. Things will get better.

Good looking dog, BTS. She has a kind face.
She almost looks like she might have some german wirehaired pointer with her markings and beard.
